I’m paying for 200mb/s from frontier.

do you have any ethernet cables to other nearby rooms?

Do you have coax in your house?

If no to the other above questions, id get a mesh system, there are lots of them like the ones from ubiquity, goodle, eero, netgear and others.

I’m renting a house and my WiFi speed is fine but when I play games in my bedroom it’s really low and I am unable to run an Ethernet cable as I am renting the house, how can I make my WiFi better? Can I purchase an extender or something?

  1. What is the make and model of your wireless adapter? What about the wireless router/AP?
  2. When you run internet speed tests from your room, what speeds are you getting? And what is the latency?
  3. How much distance is there between your computer and the wireless router/AP? How many intervening walls/floors?
  4. Please provide the wireless settings you are using in the wireless router/AP. E.g. bands, wireless channel, channel width, supported standards (B/G/N/AC), security/encryption, radio output power.
  5. Install and run WiFi Analyzer on your PC then post screenshots of the Networks and Analyze pages (include both 2.4GHz and 5GHz). And please identify your SSID(s).
