amd cards with rtx

Some gtx 1000 cards had rtx on with software, but it sucks.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

RTX is nvidia's branding of Ray Tracing, but ray tracing exists in DX12 ultimate and was baked into next gen console hardware over 2 years ago. Ray tracing is not in anyway exclusive to Nvidia or controlled by them, just RTX. This isn't like physx where Nvidia bought a proprietary technology and AMD users were screwed. In fact, Consoles will be implementing the more ubiquitous AMD friendly methods of ray tracing, but You'll probably need RDNA 2 to actually use it.

 

Honestly raytracing (in general) in it's current state is somewhat meh due to weak hardware. Reminds me of tessellation back in the day. All we need now is another Crysis 2 moment...
