Budget (including currency): Asking you guys

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Solidworks, a lot of games at ultra nightmare settings 4k 144hz(or greater), photo rendering

 

I was thinking about the following at least:

Cpu               Zen 3 Amd 5950x

gpu                rtx 3090 or 3080(what would you recommend?)

air cooling     Dark rock 4 pro (is it ok or should i go for water cooling?) 

800 w psu  (is it ok?)

 

what would you recommend 

please provide a list including monitor

Edit:- Also want to play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

You may have to go 3090 SLI to get 4k 144Hz on Ultra settings.  Even then, some games have Ultra settings that are specifically for screenshots and not actual gameplay, they're so ramped up.

 

So I'd say you're looking at $5,000 USD or so.

i already know that quardo or RTX 4000 to RTX 8000 is used for Solidworks

Idk exactly what games you're playing and how important 144hz is to you, but you probably would do fine with a 5960x, a 3080, and at least 32gb of RAM (Solidworks could have a terabyte of ram and still complain about running out). I would guess you're looking to spend at least $2000.

You mean the monitor and everything? No way, 4k 144hz monitors are expensive. My guess is $2000~ for the computer.

 

I just looked at your profile, the rig you have listed there should be more than enough for solidworks and more intensive workloads. If you feel gaming performance is lacking, I'd just upgrade the GPU.

For reference.... the 3080 at 4k maxxed...  Nowhere near 144Hz.  The 3090 is 10-15% faster, so still nowhere near 144Hz.
