Only thing i changed was the PSU, the S12III you picked is an ok PSU but for a little more the Corsair TXM is a much better choice.

I'd also aim for a better SSD, P1 is QLC based ... for a few dollars more you can get something with TLC which should have higher endurance and more consistent speeds.

I agree with the power supply suggestion, The S12III is a decent psu, but nevertheless it's bronze efficiency and you can do better... aim for gold efficiency.

The "better motherboard" is really debatable... I'd say no, it's not.

The Tomohawk is ATX while the MSI board you suggest is mATX so you lose pci-e slots.  Also, you lose usb 3.1 gen2 (10gbps) slots, both type a and type c ... the tomohawk has them on the io shield.

The MSI board cuts lots of things to make it budget, the Tomohawk is more feature packed and having a big bios chip (the max in the name) means most likely it will have support for the Ryzen 5xxx a few weeks/months after they'll be released.

6n the other hand, it has 2 m.2 slots and pcie 4.

but sure, there are better b550 options, closer to the b450 tomahawk price that are worth considering.
