One 1440p/4K or Two 1080p. HELP!

HYDRYL

Specs: i5-8400, GTX 1050Ti, 16GB RAM

I want to buy a new monitor(s) but confused between these choices.

  • One 1440p IPS
  • One 4K VA panel
  • Two 1080p IPS dual monitors

All are almost at same price. Mostly multimedia work, MS office, movies etc. Sometimes casual gaming. Graphics don't matter to me in gaming.

Currently using 720p on 32" for 2 years and want to use a sharp monitor with space for atleast 2 windows on it. That's why I am confused on these.
I want the space and don't want pixelated text like I am using now. Please suggest what would suit best for me.
Note: Overall workflow is important, gaming is not a priority.

I use 3 Monitors on my Workstation. Depending on the Tools you use, its way better than 1 Screen.

I would choose 2 if work is the main use.

go 4k then , I've been on 4k for 4 years and never went back.

Especially for multimedia work as your monitor should be higher res than what your working on so you can actually see what youre doing

Get a 32" 1440p monitor. Use the old one as a second screen.

People say that if you watch 1080p movie on 4K screen, it looks bad compared to 1080p screen as it upscales the content. Is there a noticeable difference?

Have you considered getting an Ultrawide?

Only 2560x1080 is available here. Its doubtful that I'll like the 21:9 ratio. I need vertical pixels as well.

it depends on the method it uses , but on both my tv and pc monitor neither seems effected.

I use my 4k setup for film stock restoration so I tend to watch a lot of oddball resolution video and it seems fine to me.

I will say , running my previous 4k tv at 1080 as the resolution produced a terrible picture , but running it at 4k then just expanding the video to fit the 4k resolution worked fine.
