Will an Apple keyboard work in Windows/Linux?

So, this might be a stupid question, but I'm curious if the Apple keyboard and mouse will work in Windows and Xubuntu. I like the feel of them for typing (and obviously using the mouse) and I might have my mom get me a set.

I already used an Apple keyboard in Windows. The only thing that bothered me was the reversed Windows and Alt key. But you can switch them with a software or something...

I think it's Lite-On. Not entirely sure, but I like how it feels.

They're propably just adding the Magic Touch. That means the Apple tax

The only thing I might do is use a different mouse. I'm assuming this will still work, right?

Yes. Works even plugged in the usb ports of the keyboard. As @techswede noted, it's pretty much a standard usb keyboard...

im not sure how you would go about the bluetooth stuff that apple keyboard use unless you get a wired one, but i think that the razer death stalker used chicklet style keys on it so that may be worth consideration

The mouse and keybord aren't exceptional, but the do work. Just don't plan on right-clicking on anything.

It's Apple. Most of their stuff is proprietary, so I wasn't sure.

I found the model number of the keyboard I like, and I have a white Microsoft mouse to kinda go along with it.

The Mighty Mouse tends to register them as left clicks.

You have to left your index so it register as a right click. It's ok for everyday usage but can't be used in gaming.

Ok. This has not been my experience. But after quickly looking it up, I believe you are essentially correct (depending on your mouse) and you must click to on the very right in order to activate right click on difficult mice.

I kinda get the joke. But I'm just used to my mouse, with how I hold it.

The joke is a Steve Jobs quote (not exact but in essence), regarding the iPhone antenna problem. It was a response that was mocked because it is ridiculous.

It's not where you click, you just have to lift your index. Your middle fingers does indeed need to be on the right side but nothing exagerated, just use it as if there was 2 buttons. This has been valid for quite some time now. Since at least Mighty Mouse which was before the current Magic Mouse.

Not currently, but I have (Mighty Mouse) and had no issues with it. I just used it like I would with a normal mouse.

No. Just at school. I use the mouse from my Logitech MK260, MK270, and a stock Alienware Aurora R3 mouse.
