Is my 2060 worthless now?

I'm not sure what to do with my 2060 now because the 3060 is rumored to be as fast a a 2080 super but probably around the 2080 average. anyway I'm not sure if I should sell my card even tho I probably couldn't get as much or should  I wait for the 3060 but if Nvidia was telling the truth about the 3060 levels of performance, my 2060 wouldn't even be worth selling.

In terms of value, yes. But, if you are satisfied with the performance of the card I wouldn't worry about it. Upcoming products will always depreciate older ones, especially in tech.

Sell only after you have the new card in your system, specially considering that chances of getting a new card this year are pretty low. If it's not worth selling the 2060 later on, use it as a cup coaster, put on the wall, use on a second system, or whatever.

Welcome to the forum. Just because new cards are coming out doesn't mean yours will just stop working. You will still have the same performance you have now. If you have had the card for awhile and want to upgrade go ahead. However, value wise? Yes, the card is now going to be worth a lot less than what you originally paid or could sell it for used a few months ago. Wait for the 3060 to actually come out and be available first before you decide what to do.

Since the release of the 5600xt, it's been a poor buying choice.

 

That said, if you already have one, and it's performing well enough, i don't see a reason to replace it.

That's kind of a ridiculous stance to take. Just because something new comes out, doesn't mean yours turns into a paper weight....even if it did, it's still worth something as a paper weight. You can also sell it and get something for it, which is better than nothing. Saying it's not worth selling is a very odd stance to take. Tech depreciates rapidly; if you thought you were going to get any kind of decent return on selling old hardware, you're poorly mistaken.

I haft to disagree for the 5600xt, I bought the 2060ko and with it being $25 more then the 5600xt "us" I beats the 5600xt by 10-15% shown by steave and jay let alone that its using a reused 2080 dia which makes its computing side sometimes as powerful as the 2070 "shown by steave."

I have a 2060 and it'll be enough for me until i decide i want something else.

 

That'll happen when i feel the experience isn't up to scratch on the newer games.

 

At the moment, I'm content.

Generally speaking the 5600xt is slightly faster or equal to the regular 2060, and costs less.

 

IMO, the 2060 is only worth it if the games you play specifically favor nvidia hardware or you need the encoder.

 

It's not terrible, and you're not losing much by having it, but cost-wise it's hard to recommend as often there's a $50 difference between a 5600xt and a 2060.

In retrospect this was probably insensitive and I regret posting it.

 

The 2060 and 2060 KO are fine cards to this day when judged alone on their merits, and if you don't have problems there's no reason to upgrade.
