Hello,

So i am new with pc and i recently got an DELL OPTIPLEX 790 MT(mini tower)

Current Specs:

i3 2160

Intel HD graphics 2000

8G RAM

And my current PSU with can go up to 265w(but it says it should not use more than 240w)

So i want to add a GPU as my current(intel hd 2000)is not good

As i said i am new with pc so i dont know which GPUs will work with my 240w psu without any issue

I would appreciate if you could suggest any GPU for my pc(upgrading my psu is better but am not sure which psu models work with my pc)

Thanks in advance for your time:)

Depends on your budget. You can choose from, 750 ti, GT 1030, GTX 1050, and GTX 1650. The 1650 is of course the best of the bunch, the 750 ti and GT 1030 are more budget oriented and perform similarly and the GTX 1050 is something in between. But do keep in mind that you can also upgrade the power supply should you want to

like a 1050 ti. maybe you can run a 1060 also

Both of those GPU's require external power connectors that need to be bought separately, additionally, the 1060 wouldn't really work well unless undervolted and even then it would be putting quite the load on the power supply./

You might need adaptors for the motherboard, and there isn't a specific power supply required. But if you're going for one of the GPU's I mentioned you don't need a new PSU, and considering you're pretty new to computers I suggest perhaps sticking to one of the options I mentioned and perhaps leave the PSU upgrade for another day, perhaps when you become a little more knowledgeable with computers, since it can be difficult to deal with the proprietary connectors the motherboard has.

the 1050 ti doesnt https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Geforce-Phoenix-Graphics-PH-GTX1050TI-4G/dp/B01M360WG6

but yes if he doesnt have a 6 pin then the 1060 is out of the picture

But at that point, at the price of a 1050 ti you could just get a 1650 instead.

And if it's an optiplex and the PSU is below 300W it never has a 6 pin.

Okay:)

Thanks ,i checked the GPUs you mentioned ,so i should not worry about the fact that the GPUs need at least 300w?

there are versions of 1050ti and 1650 that don't require external power

All the GPU's I mentioned use about 60-75W, just make sure when buying a graphics card that it doesn't have any external power connectors like one of these
