Gigabyte 512GB NVME M.2 SSD Read/ Write Speed

Wild Walker

My Gigabyte 512GB NVME M.2 SSD should have a read speed of 1700 MB/s and a write speed of 1550 MB/s but when i do a test with CrystalDisckMark the read and write speed are not even the half what it should be.

From pressing the power button to login screen takes 40 seconds.

So is my NVME SSD not good or are there setting i need to chance?

Nothing wrong with the SSD, it's just some settings wrong. Download Crystal Disk Info and check PCIe - speed the SSD is running at.

The drive looks to be fine and even running at the correct PCIe-speed. The issue may be because the drive doesn't have any DRAM-cache of its own and uses system-RAM instead. I have no idea how to get better performance out of that, since I have no DRAMless NVMe-drives myself.
