Never used them before, but considering buying these to use with my Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 850w unit.

1. Are they safe?

2. Do they alter the ripple performance?

3. Do you use them as extensions or in place of existing PCIE cables?

Thanks,

1. Yes.

2. No.

3. Depends what type you get. You can get extensions that connect to your existing cables, or you can gets ones specifically for your PSU that replace the stock cables.

The ones you've linked to are extensions that will connect to the ends of the existing cables and then plug into the component end.

Thanks for the response. Are these quality parts? What brand do you recommend?

Phanteks are a trusted brand. I know Bitfenix does extensions as well.

I'd recommend taking a look at @CableMod's offerings. They have both PSU specific replacement sets and extensions.

I can't really vouch for any of these personally as I've always sleeved my own cables rather than buying any.

The reason why the there are one star reviews is because the PCIe connectors melt.  Apparently Ohm's law isn't taught in schools anymore.  If you extend a cable, you should at least use the same gauge wire.  PCIe cables are typically 16g.  These are all 18g wire.

Would be better to get replacement cables than extensions.
