PLAYING GAMES OFF EXTERNAL DRIVE

Hi, i own a laptop with an ssd

 

I plan to play games off an external drive. If i play off a HDD will they be slow, or should i get a external HDD

 

Please may i have some insight on this.

You can, but there will be a delay or possible lag, depending on what the interface to the laptop is

USB3 may have enough bandwidth for gaming, but there will be a huge latency which is not desireable.

Why? Is the laptop SSD too small and not upgradeable? 

 

If so, a better solution is to move your media onto external storage and save your SSD for programs.

thank you, i have a usb 3.2 port and usb type c. which ones faster?

I don't see why different port have different result.
