Okay so I have a CiT case from ebay, which is nice to be honest, and it came with ARGB on the front and 3x fans. Now, I bought a Phanteks ARGB strip to put in as well as I wanted to use the existing daisy chain method that the fans are connected through, and just add another thing on. but weirdly although the case RGB input is a 3 pin 5v connector [photo 1] (which my motherboard doesn't have (I just use the premade modes)), the output from the control unit within the case [picture 2] goes to this connector [picture 3] which has this 4 pin connector on it [picture 4] I don't entirely understand why. The LED strip i bought has this 3 pin connector [picture 5] and also came with this Y cable with the same 3 pin input as the case [picture 6] is there any way or adaptors or something I can use to get this thing to work?

what phantec strip you get? i no they use jst-sm connectors on there argb stuff but they normal come with the 2+1 pin adapter.

but how dose the other fans connect to the case controller? my guess is there proprietary.

the first pik is of a 2+1 connector the would normal go to your mb to use the soft ware to control it but you said you don't have an mb header so the wont be used. (unless you buy an usb controller of some sort)

no idea what the 4 pin jst -sm connector is for?

also an link to the case would help as i googled CiT case and many came up....

thx

so the strip dose have the adapter from jst-sm 3 pin to 2+1 connector.

i need to see a pic of the case controller and how the case fans hook to it. from there i can tell you they there probably proprietary meaning you cant hook the

(looks to me they they placed it behind the front panel on this case)

strip to it but i wont no lintel i see a pic of it.

so i found this i think theses are the fans. it uses one cable off the fan with 5 wires. what the connector on it is i don't no. its probably 3 wires for the argb and 2 wires for the power of the fan.

with that being said im like 99% that the case controller wont have the standard 2+1 pin argb connector so unless you find what each pin dose off the fan and then you will have to cut and solder on an connector to attach the 3pin jst-sm (strip) or with the adapter (jst-sm connector) to the fan.

or buy a usb/manual argb controller.

That cable enables you to connect the Phanteks 3 pin argb to a standard 3 pin argb connector.

no there a 4pin witch we have no idea what it dose. i highly doubt that it uses the 4pin argb 5v  from some cheap chinness case.

My bad, i thought picture 1 was an output from the case (the 3 pin from picture 2)

In that case he needs a separate 3 pin 5v hub or a motherboard with a 5v output.

that's what i said. or revers engineer the argb controller it has...

I could have a look into reverse engineering the built in controller, and i mean, if i break it I could as you said, get a 5v 1+2 pin hub

ya i would start with the stat power and make a diagram of what wires are positive and negative with a multi meter. then there could be 12 v and 5v sent to the fans? 12 for the fan and 5 for the argb. or they could just run at 5v i guess. i really don't think they will be using clock data so it most likely just be stander argb data. if your really worded you could just hook the + and - to to the psu and attach the data wire to the data off the controller.
