Which cpu to choose

Hey, I'm working on my first pc build, and I am struggling to pick a cpu. I'm thinking about grabbing one of the 3080's when they become available again and don't know which cpu to go with without rendering the 3080 pointless while trying to keep the cpu cost under $300

If you're going more for gaming, get an intel 10600k. If you want something more for productivity, then get a ryzen 3700x.

I can live with 1080p, 120fps, and it'd be nice to pull that off with cyberpunk but as it's not out, kinda hard to know what is necessary

For 1080p, it's been said that the 3080 will almost always be bottlenecked by CPU, even a 10900K.
