I'd personally wait for Zen 3 benchmarks in few days...

I edit my posts more often than not

What good 1440p 144hz ultra wide monitors are there? Trying to find a good monitor is just as hard as finding the parts for the rest of the build lol.

if you’re a console gamer do you have basic peripherals like keyboard and mouse and audio?  They can be gotten very cheaply I suppose.  There are some $8 keyboards and mice out there.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Right now I got around £800/$1,034 for a monitor

How big of a display is your definition of ultrawide

The AOC CU34G2X/BK you mentioned is one I was previously looking at too! although the reviews are 50/50 but for the price its very tempting.

This one is very good but its outside the budget https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/MdsmP6/lg-32gk850f-b-320-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-32gk850f-b the goal is to get a very immersive experience with 3440x1440.

I'm just coming off a regular square monitor and I'm trying to get away from that, I'm ready for the switch to Ultrawide!

Oops im sorry, I thought your question of "definition of ultrawide" was just the size of the monitor. I'm looking for  3440x1440. Similar to this https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/MdsmP6/lg-32gk850f-b-320-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-32gk850f-b the goal is to get a very immersive experience. Above are the only 2 I can find from mainstream brands that I recognize that are in stock.

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/Mhwkcf/iiyama-gb3461wqsu-b1-340-3440x1440-144-hz-monitor-gb3461wqsu-b1

This one is from a brand I've never heard of, from a review it looks decent but its input lag is atrocious.

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/nHJmP6/nixeus-nx-edg34s-340-3440x1440-144-hz-monitor-nx-edg34s

This monitor is pretty similar to the AOC but the AOC is 150 pounds cheaper with a better stand.

Overall for 100 pounds cheaper that the AOC I would go for the Gigabyte, which has official G-Sync compatibility.

Get the Gigabyte one for £100 less, if you plan on buying the AOC.

The gigabyte is definetly the best value, the only complaint I see is backlight bleeding which I guess is common with VA panels. People have compared it to the Xiaomi 34 monitor

Also quick question if anybody knows the answer, someone mentioned to me that the noctua cooler can get in the way of the ram? is this true and if so is there a workaround or will I need a different motherboard/cooler?

Have you bought the parts yet? After the release of Zen 3 you might want to consider the Ryzen 9 5900x.

I didn't buy it yet, I was waiting for the Zen 3 announcement. after watching Linus' video the top version is only costs a little more and does more.

Use low profile ram

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Any particular reason you need 32gb?  If it’s just gaming I’d rather have 16gb of faster memory myself.  One of the weirdnesses of 10th gen is it deals with fast memory better than previous gens.   Also if you don’t actually have that 3080 in hand yet, GL.

I been a console gamer for so long, that I've decided to treat myself go with a really good PC. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/crMD4d I'm going to game a lot on it and do some YouTube editing. What do you think?

thats a beast of a pc, if u r going to spend all of that money on that. get a better than 100hz monitor this pc would be capable of over 200+ frames on basically 70% of games these days. go with a 144-280hz monitor and lower some other stuff on it. you probably dont need 32gb of ram

According to first-party data from AMD, the 5900X is supposed to be faster at gaming than the 10900K. I'd definitely wait for third-party reviews and see what's up.
