So for whatever reason, my mother wants to put some speakers in the ceiling of around 3-5 rooms( cant remember the exact number)

What all would be required to do this? Would an amp be needed for every room or would she need just one? I recommended the polk audio speakers that linus used(mostly cause they were the only ones I could think of that would probably be decent enough for her and they aren't as expensive as bose or sonos)

One big requirement is particulars of the ceiling construction and the area right above the ceiling.  That is going to inform what the best type of speaker and and cheapest installation method is

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

I think all that would require is an amp with wireless connectivity connected to the speakers. I believe you would need 1 amp per zone so if rooms a and b were always playing the same thing, they could be on the same amp but if they want to play separate things or play on one but not the other, they would need separate amps.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

With amps and how many its dependent on use case and the speakers them selves.

So you can do it with one amp but all speakers will be on and producing sound at the same time. If you want separate control for separate rooms each one will need its own amp channel and possible its own amp depending on the amp.

The main supply of ceiling speakers is JBL. If you search JBL professional you will find their selection of ceiling speakers.

Its not a common thing people do so pricing isnt great and it can be expensive as majority of the time your buying professional grade equipment or expensive home AV. The fact you want wireless increase the cost.

What is your budget for this. If its anything less then thousands your not going to get very far.
