Hello everyone!

I'm looking for people who have are using an overlocked 8700K, and more specifically, what VCore they're using and to achieve what clockspeed.

So if you're an owner of the 8700K and are overclocking it, please do tell what VCore amount you're using, to achieve what clockspeed - also cooling and if any mods are used.

Thanks :)

I think I'm using 1.35V, running my 8700K at 4.9Ghz. That said, that is an all-cores overclock -- every core is running at 4.9GHz, instead of what other people tend to go for, where they overclock a single core to 5GHz or more.

Nothing fancy, just an NH-D15S. Went for the NH-D15S instead of NH-D15, because I had RAM-clearance issues. My CPU tends to get rather toasty when running Prime95 small-FFTs at around 85C, but Prime95 isn't really a realistic workload -- I use it to check the worst-case temps.

I used 1.344 and still do with my i7 8086ks.

I originally used this video to overclock.

On my i7 8700k I did 4.9ghz and on my i7 8086ks it is good for 5.1ghz .

My i7 8700k was not a good overclocker so it is used in a productivity rig now.

I use Noctua nh-d15s and a be quiet Dark rock Pro 4.

Idles in the low 30s and gameds in the 70s.

My 8700k only reached stable 5GHz at 1.4V, but its really not a good chip.

Youll have to experiment yourself, a normal chip should be able to get to 5GHz with 1.35-1.375V

Woah that's impressive IMO. Love that you're able to do 5GHz at 1.25v.

Thank you for infos

Its lottery, ive seen as low as 1.15v for 5GHz in forums, with proof.

I run at 5.0 1.32v. Delided it for the hell of it. On a custom loop. The board has an fancy auto clock option, Put it around 5.17 at 1.51v. So im sure i could push the chip much further but no real world gain for me.

Every chip is gonna be different, so our results aren't necessarily going to be helpful to determine what you should run.

That said, I am delidded + Conductonaut, scraped off silicon adhesive + no glue, 1.375v + High LLC (middle option, oddly), 5ghz core, 4.7ghz cache, 0 AVX offset, Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi.

It's stable enough in that it survived 2 hours of RealBench and hasn't crashed on anything I've thrown at it for nearing 3 years. It might survive a P95 24 hour stress test it might not, but i frankly don't give a shit.
