Compatibility Assistance with 9700k and Z390-M

xiVi

Hello guys, thanks for your time first and foremost.

I intend to buy 9700k and an Z390-M, coming from an 2600X and B350M.

Now my only question is would these:

image.png.b95d611aeeafd1e7e88d29b4c5c50a74.png

Be compatible with each other if I swap from 2600X and B350M? Also I just bought a new 3200Mhz 16GB RAM that was compatible to my last motherboard (B350M), would it be compatible to Z390-M and 9700k?

The aforementioned memory:

Corsair DDR 4 16G (8Gx2) 3200 CL16 VENGEANCE LPX Black CMK16GX4M2E3200C16

So to basically make it clear, Z390-M & 9700k & Corsair DDR4 16G 3200 CL16 VENGEANCE LPX Black CMK16GX4M2E3200C16

Do you need more information? I'd be sending these to a local PC lab so it could be installed, I just wanna make sure it would all work so I won't buy them for nothing. Thanks for understanding and helping!

It will be compatible, my only thought is that it might be better to stick with AMD. As far as I know, Zen 3 chips will be compatible with B350, and even if not, Zen 2 isn't far off intel 9th gen.

My CPU's been doing fine but I desperately need more frames and I find Intel more rewarding in VALORANT at least in terms of frames.

Do I need to take SSD, HDD or anything else into consideration? My PC case is not huge but not small either.

Also, does the Box version come with a cooler, or should I worry about getting one?

wait for amd's new chips

why are you upgrading? i dont really recommend the 9700K or intel 9th gen anymore

its an old and dead platform and youll get more for you money if youll go for a 3700x or even 3600

ram will be compatible

maybe a 10600 and a good z490 motherboard is a better choice here, and a better choice for the long run

אפשר למצוא את זה יחסית בזול בארץ אם אתה הולך על 3600 ולוח B450 :)

VALORANT rewards Intel CPU's way more and I get the CPU for rather cheap and I find the opportunity worth taking.

if youve gotten a good deal on the 9700k its not a bad cpu, its on par with all the 10th gen stuff aside from games that hate non-smt chips. although if you can get a 10600k plus mobo for the same price itd be a bit better with more threads and similar clock speeds. pushing high framerates in games like valorant is certainly suited to intel chips, for now at least. the gigabyte should be a fine board, youll wanna research its vrms if you wanna overclock to see if theyre adequate, chances are that its okay. the corsair lpx ram is compatible between motherboards that support the common ddr4 slot, thats fine too. should go together great!

topics i need help on:

Spoiler

my "oops i bought intel right before zen 3 releases" build

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (placeholder)

GPU: Gigabyte 980ti Xtreme (also placeholder), deshroud w/ generic 1200rpm 120mm fans x2, stock bios 130% power, no voltage offset: +70 core +400 mem

Memory: 2x16gb GSkill Trident Z RGB 3600C16, 14-15-30-288@1.45v

Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming

Cooler: Noctua NH-D15S w/ white chromax bling
OS Drive: Samsung PM981 1tb (OEM 970 Evo)

Storage Drive: XPG SX8200 Pro 2tb

Backup Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 4TB

PSU: Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium 750W w/ black/white Cablemod extensions
Case: Fractal Design Meshify C Dark (to be replaced with a good case shortly)

basically everything was bought used off of reddit or here, only new component was the case. absolutely nutty deals for some of these parts, ill have to tally it all up once it's "done" :D
