GrayFoxbr

Yeah...My GTX 580 died a few days back and damn i loved that card.Sadly its out of warranty so no RMA... :( Played so many great games thanks to it, at least now im a part of the GPU coaster elite but this sucks.

The timing of this was so shitty, maxwell right around the corner(kind of) and now i need a new graphics card.

Are you going to be running on integrated graphics for now, or get a new one right away?

Take the heatsink off the card and stick it in the oven at 385F for 8-10 minutes. I revived two old cooked 8800GTS cards that way. If the card is out of warranty it can't hurt to try. I also revived a Quadro NVS 135M that was on my old laptop a couple times with a butane torch lighter.

Ill be damned, a 7770 which can overheat, i thought it would be fine naked.

i've already tried that baked my card and no luck. I even own a heat gun for fixing this kind of stuff (fixed a few xbox 360 rrods and ps3 ylod)

My 6570 overheated with the HIS cooler. Now it's buried under a few feet of snow (the cooler, not the card)

Probably a faulty card and time aggravated the issue. Never OCed, had nice temps, good psu. some times shit happens,

Does it give any error code or anything if you put it in a second PCI-E slot with the screen plugged into the working card? My 8800s gave a code 43 (I think it was that) in device manager.

I don't know if it counts as a component but my 4 year old Steelseries Kana mouse dies couple months ago. After that I bought the v2 version of it because it's just so good :D

I don't have pictures because my camera is not good enough to be able to see it on but I chipped off (by an accident, hit it on the thing holding the RAM in place) a small resistor/capacitor of my Sapphire 7850 and never found the part again. now it sits in my bookshelf holding my books in place.

No error, device manager cant even detect the card.

About 11 years ago, there was a storm and lightning struck fairly close, and it fried the motherboard.

And I think my sisters PSU kind of died, but it was a cheap no-name thing... so it was made to die.

Other than that, I don't think I've ever had a piece of hardware die on me.

All our old computers work just fine.
