Can't use microphone on PC

dsong98

I just built a new PC, and I'm having trouble using a microphone on it. When I plug in my apple earphones or bose qc15, I can't use the mics from them, and I can't find the input anywhere in the settings. Do I need to install a driver?

System: Windows 10

Are you just plugging them into the audio out?

You probably need a splitter.

I was wondering if that was a possibility. I am just plugging it into the Front IO headphone jack. When I did this on other PC's it worked, so I wasn't sure why it wasn't working this time. When I tried to plug the headphones into the Front IO microphone jack, I still couldn't find any input in the settings.

You need a splitter. 1 pink and 1 green. pink goes into mic and green goes into headphones.

PM or DM me if you have any questions about audio.

I was able to get a splitter, but my mic still isn't working. When I test it, website will say they detect a microphone, but they don't get any input. Is it possible I wired my front IO incorrectly?
