most likely, i really cant tell unless you have a working CPU with you to plop it in and make sure nothing else is broken

Only if i had not delidded 😞

well it's something that carries risk, and you should proceed knowingly that this could happen and you're ready for it to happen

delidding with a razor is kind of a bad idea these days anyways, since they do sell proper tools to do it

But the issue is under prime 95, its reaching 100 degrees.. 😞

What cooler do you use? Tried opening the side panel to see if it's case airflow that is bad?

Games like 70 to 75 ... N i dont hv cinebench... Did i get a bad chip? 😞

Bad chip probably not, but the temps are kinda high

But I think it's normal for those chips to run hot

Tried opening up the side panel while gaming? See if temps drop

I'm also wondering if you applied enough mounting pressure on it

As long as you don't run prime95 all day and game temps are fine, I wouldn't worry too much about it

Nope, don't worry about it

It's a bad chip only if it doesn't work

Also i must mention i have nzxt h 510 which is a pretty restrictive case.. and my cpu cooler is mounted towards the top

not familiar with how well that cooler cools a 9700k, but the temps aren't alarmingly bad, especially if it's in that casing
