the CPU will bottleneck at higher frame rates, but changing monitor to remove bottleneck is logically wrong. You get a system that can play on settings you want, not the other way around

with an r7 2700x, if you hit a cpu bottleneck, just add more eyecandy.

a cpu bottleneck just implies that the cpu is the limiting factor for how many frames per second your system can push out. i guarantee you that no matter the real-world performance of rtx 30 series, with any somewhat modern game nvidia will have enough ridiculous eyecandy options to get the GPU to be the limiting factor.

that said, what GPU are you running now, and does it feel lacking? because if your current GPU is still running everything you want to run, there is no reason what so ever to upgrade.

also, welcome to the forum ;)

@manikyath I am currently running the 2070 Super right now and it is running perfectly but it is overpriced for a 2070 Super and if I get the 3080 it will be the same price and have better performance.

but you already have the 2070 super? unless you literally *just* got it and can still return it for a full refund, the 3080 will *not* be the same price.

also, last time i checked the 3080 is not on the shelves yet, so we dont have a confirmed retail price.

@manikyath I can still get a refund on it, the refund expires the 19th(2 days after the 3080 launch)

well.. then the answer is simple:

if you wanna be *that guy* that returns his product right at the end of the return period, return it and get the 3080, cpu bottleneck or not, your performance will be better.
