Looking for a pc(I)(e) Bluetooth solution

daithi de nuggla

So I have an MSI Z370 Gaming Plus Motherboard, which has no Bluetooth on board. However it has the following extension PCIx Ports: (1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 (x4 mode) 4 x PCIe 3.0 x1) //one for the GPU). My requirement for the card is: Bluetooth 5.0(or higher), aptx (low latency) and a price under €50.

I already searched trough Amazon, but only found ones with strange brand names like Ziyituod ?

Any recommendations?

oh and my highest priority is for audio b 5.0 and aptx

You're not going to have any luck finding a PCIe card that exclusively has Bluetooth, only cards with both Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities.

I would suggest taking a look at the TP-Link TX50E if you want an elegant solution, though the ASUS PCE-AC58BT would do as well.

I'm not aware of any adapter that does both aptX LL and BT5 whether USB or PCIe.

Can see why you'd want aptX LL, but what do you also need BT5 for?

I bought the surface headphones 2 (aptx + b v5) => low latency, used them with bluetooth 4 => a lot of latency, however on my phone (s9+ with b5 + aptx ll), the latency was barley noticeable in games etc

AptX LL on its own gives you low latency, BT5 does not play a role in it.

that means a bt 4.2 with aptx usb dongle would be more useful than bt 5 without aptx?
