I was just doing an internet speed test on chrome when a random file pops up on the bottom left called "rorzqo". Which has been downloaded to my PC. I've never seen this before or heard of it and when i tried to google it, it came up with nothing. It is just a blank file with 0 bytes, (i added a letter so it went up a byte) and absolutely nothing, i loaded it up with notepad and still nothing. I cant even delete it or move it to trash can or anything. I dont know what to do any help would be great thanks.

Windows 10 64 Bit

1050 ti, ryzen 3 1200, seagate baracuda 2tb hard drive, idk rest.

your best bet is to run malwarebytes and see what comes up, typically random string files which keep getting downloaded are bots/dormant viruses waiting for a start signal.

@Moonzy I have one netflix tab open, a few youtube tabs and when it first happened i had a few 9anime tabs open as well. But thank you im new to the forum will @ people from now on

Definitely run malwarebytes scan

I've had someone ask "why does chrome keep downloading (some files)" when they had the download page open and running whenever they open up chrome

@Moonzy I already have and it came up with nothing, it honestly might be nothing but i still thought it was dodgy it's never happened before so..

It's definitely sketchy to say the least

I would personally backup whatever files I want to keep, and do a fresh OS install from a USB stick at this point

yea, it's not a fun thing to do, but it's one way to nuke everything at once and start over

@Lewdless have you checked your chrome extensions and addons? "IMcloud.com" is part of alicloud which is used on Aliexpress cloud AI to do all kinds of sketchy things. It should show up as an extension or if you go to "add remove programs" in windows and sort by date it may show up as a recently installed toolbar.

@GhostRoadieBL I checked both of those things and nothing came up, I only had the usual extensions like pop up blocker, you tube ad blocker etc.. and nothing came up on the "add remove program" bit although i did just reinstall windows so it might've gone already.

only other thing I can think of is a changed home page or new tab page causing the download but the embedded page text keeps changing.
clear cookies, and clear downloads page from chrome, then remove chrome, restart and reinstall chrome to see if that clear out the files.

It's definitely 9Anime and the ads and hidden crap.

I just went onto their page (at work, so on my work PC), and our anti-malware / anti-adware program just blocked a bunch of crap back-to-back 4x times.

This is even AFTER I closed the tab; had to clear history/cookies/cache from 9Anime.

One of them was something-something ... premiumadvertising.com
