Obviously the 780 is the more powerful/better GPU. A 770i doesn't exist (Did you mean 770 Ti? That also doesn't exist. Did you mean 780 Ti and mistyped?).

Like were you looking for best price to performance? Or just all out best card in terms of performance? What is your budget? What are your current PC specs?

Err no, at least with me, my issue is this: What is the point of this thread? It's way too vague. Everyone already knows the 780 is more powerful than the 770. What does he want to know? Which GPU is more powerful? Which is the better price/performance ratio? Which is cheaper? Which is louder? Which is cooler? Which OC's better?

 

The point is saying 770 vs 780 is like saying VW Jetta TDI vs Formula 1 Racer. Obviously the F1 racer is faster and more agile, but the Jetta is more comfortable and more practical. So what is the actual question?

770 is plenty at 1080p. If you want to play with 1440p or maybe have a longer living card, a 780 would do fine. At 1080p a 780 would also dip below 60FPS less often, but it's quite pricey.

This is pretty stupid, you are asking us to compare two cards where one is obviously more powerful, you need to provide some context (What resolution, budget etc.). That way we can help you choose the GPU that fits your needs..

780 Ti has better performance, but it's a stupid buy since it's not that much stronger than the 780. It's not $200 stronger, at least.

760. A 770 makes no sense $/performance, better to get a 760 and sell it right before Maxwell to upgrade again.

EDIT: With the change in OP, I'd say 780, likewise sell it when Maxwell is about to come out.

 

I wouldn't trust a single 780 Ti to be my only GPU for the coming generation. Flip it for a maxwell card, or R9 3XX.
