3600x + 3080?

Country: Slovenia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mostly gaming, currently EFT, some 3d Blender stuff

Other details: I'm building whole system from scratch and trying to make it future proof

 

Initial plan was to use 3600 + 2070S but I've decided to wait for RTX 3000. Now that it is here, I see an 3080 might fit into my budget. Currently using 1080p 144hz monitor that I don't plan to change for quite some time.

 

so the question is:

would 3600x bottleneck 3080 for 1080p

would 3600x bottleneck 3070 for 1080p

We don't know. The cards haven't been released yet, only announced. Any answers would be a result of speculation and extrapolation from existing GPU combined with data provided by Nvidia which, because it's first-party data, should always be taken with a grain of salt.

I'm in the same boat. Running a 1660 Super as the stopgap since March waiting for the RTX3000. Also running 1080p

 

All I want to do is run RDR2, FC5, and FS2020 at 1080P 60fps, and 200% resolution scaling.
