Budget (including currency): 1500 Canadian dollars

Country: Canada

Ryzen 7 2700X,

Zotac GTX 1660 Super 6gb Twin fan (173mm)

MSI B450I plus gaming AC,

Noctua NH L9a AM4 37mm,

Corsair vengeance 2x16gb 3200mhz ram,

Corsair force series 480gb SSD Nvme m.2,

Corsair SF series 600W gold +

Silverstone 0.8mm ML05B 7 litre case

I want to play watch dogs 2 mainly, but I also want something that can run triple AAA games. So I do not feel left out. I do not care about RGB at all and I just want a small and portable Mini PC I can move around with. I may do some video editing on it but I doubt I will do it very often.

I picked these PC parts because their the cheapest available to me on Amazon Canada that has very little compromises. I want to buy everything through amazon because it is and mostly reliable. The other websites seems a little too sketchy for my liking.

Please let me know if there is anything I can get that is better bang for my buck.

2600 is so cheap right now, it's the best bang for the buck.

i'm sure you wanna use 4th gen in the future, use this in the meantime.

anyway using all corsair won't make the system anymore stable.

I did not plan that, it just happened the corsair parts were the cheapest for me to buy. Also I do not plan on upgrading this system, so trying to get it semi beastly so I do need to waste money in the future upgrading it and throwing out old parts.

3600/10600k would be a better CPU considering you are gaming.

In 2 hrs, nVidia are revealing Ampere do the used market should be flooded with cards. Look for a 2060s/5700XT.

I did not want to use a Intel chip, because the mini-itx intel motherboard either supports LGA 1151 or LGA 1200. If I want to upgrade my system to newer CPUs then I need to buy a completely new motherboard. I could solve the problem by getting a 10th gen motherboard but the 10th gen chips are expensive and the i5 10th gen will work but it only has 6 cores.

So that is why I am building a AMD based system for the price, also I was thinking of using a 5 3600X instead of the ryzen 7 2600X because it is the same price right now, but is there a big difference between the 6 core and 8 core?

getting 3600 is better then.

for ssd go with a more popular option like crucial P1 or WD sn750.

The 3600 is substantially better than the 2700X in gaming. There's zero reason to go with the 2700X instead.

Thank you for the suggestion, but a few questions.

I like the case I choose because of its small a portable size, do you know the exact dimensions of the graphics card?

Also I saw there are people saying they need a 2nd gen chip just to update the bios on that board. So I swapped out the B450i for B550i motherboard.

Lastly is the power supply reliable? I saw a couple complaints about it on Amazon.

Thank you.

I think it's 240mm long, but you can check in pcpartpicker whether it fits in your case

most b450 boards now come with the correct bios for 3000 series, since it's been a year since launch. while the b550 board is better, you won't notice an improvement in performance or anything.
