Aftermarket Xbox 360 wireless receiver not working

I tried the true and tested method of getting this work by updating the driver in device manager and selecting the driver baked into windows 10, doesn't work. Shows up as unknown device and verified that this the recevier by disconnecting and reconnecting it physically.

Same issue here on a PC i just built for my sister.

 I have it working on my own PC with Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows Driver Version 10.0.18362.1.

On the new PC it tries to install driver 10.0.19041.1 and stays as an unknown device even though it says "Windows has Successfully updated your drivers"

 

I tried to export the drivers from my own PC but the driver in question is not exported because it is not a "third party driver". Any ideas?

the problem was that I (on the picture) tried the 32-bit powershell. It works on the 64-bit one.
