The Resolution or the Frames?

TheCyberNerd

So I am looking to get a new monitor but I am stuck in a decision on whether to go for a 4K 60hz monitor or a 1440p 120hz one. I had been leaning towards the 120hz for a while until I started really debating and ultimately deciding to get the PS5, which kinda threw a wrench in my plan as I would want to have it connected to my monitor rather then a TV and I would expect games to start using the 4K before the 120hz. Also, not loaded (partially because of the PS5 lol), so getting a 4k 120hz monitor isn't really an option. Would love to get some feedback from others on which way I should go, below are the specs of the main PC for this monitor for reference to it's main use.

CPU: Ryzen 3600

MOBO: TUF X570 Gaming-Plus

GPU: GTX 1070 Ti

RAM: 16 GB RipJaw

I would go with the 4k at 60 hz.  I prefer crystal clear detail over liquid smooth.

It must be true, I read it on the internet...

Any day. The difference between 60hz and 120hz is mind blowing but for a monitor 1440p to 4k is not much. Plus I guarantee you will enjoy the 120 hz smoothness.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

1440p 120/144hz would be ur best option.

Nobody should be thinking about 'upgrading' to 60hz, as such if u want to go 4k u should be looking at 4k 120hz, which would also mean u'll need a top of the line GPU.

Make sure to read the thread below when ur searching for a monitor.

1440p 120/144Hz is the best balance when it comes to finding middle ground.
