it would make sense if they lost enough money when gox went down

If you go  to the First Meta Exchange site you would see that it's not a bitcoin exchange.

 

You can buy and sell virtual currencies like Lindens and some others that I've never heard of.

 

If you go to the FAQ and blog you can see that for a brief moment you were able to sell bitcoins but not buy them.  This has been removed some time ago.

 

So all the reporting about her being the CEO of a bitcoin exchange is simply not true.

Suicide rates in singapore were at their highest level ever in 2012. Could be unrelated.
