Worth upgrading to ryzen 3rd gen from i5 8600k?

I have i5 8600k .. which ryzen 3 rd gen proccy should i go for for a significant upgrade? And should i wait for the 4th gen..

If you're just gaming, the 8600k is still pretty decent especially with an overclock, if you're satisfied with the current performance then good, if you need an upgrade and your workload needs the extra cores and threads, wait for zen 3 and check what it has to offer..

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad. 

 

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

 

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

aside from certain games handling non-hyperthreaded cpus poorly (far cry 5) the 8600k is a fine cpu. chances are that you could sell it and the mobo for a similar price to a used 3600+b450, which would be better for productivity and certain games that like the extra threads. otherwise it would be mostly a sidegrade in gaming performance and partially a downgrade in avg fps. chances are that even if zen 3 beats intel in gaming it wont be at a budget price point that the i5s occupy. we'll have to see how it ends up though

PSU: Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium 750W w/ black/white Cablemod extensions
Case: Fractal Design Meshify C Dark (to be replaced with a good case shortly)

basically everything was bought used off of reddit or here, only new component was the case. absolutely nutty deals for some of these parts, ill have to tally it all up once it's "done" :D
