hello, i currently have CMK16GX4M2B3000C15  this is a 2*8gb kit, i can get the same version but on 1*16gb. would this be bad for performance, or shoul i get 2*8 the same i have now, my goal is to have 32gb.

get another 2x8 so you can run in quad channel

What system do you have? MOst systems don't have quad channel support, so it will run at quad channel anyways.

7600k+ maximus hero IX, looking to move to ryzen, i can get the 16gb stick cheaper than 2*8 kit, so i think i could sell my 2*8 and buy 2 kits of 16.

that system is dul channel only, no quad channel support.

 

Normally have equal sticks is better for speed. One other options is to go 2x8 and 2x16. But there probably won't be a huge performance hit.
