DT 770 Pro 250 ohms plugged into mic?

jimmysky

I was looking at the DT 770 Pro 250 ohms headphones but i wanted to plug them into the $80 FIFINE usb mic. This mic has an aux on the bottom which also gives me mic monitoring with 0 latency which is a must for me. I do like these headphones but I was also looking at some other headphones because I dont want to spend more than $150 on headphones and also have to buy an amp. Do I need an amp or can I plug these headphones into my mic? To make this clear I mostly game and  watch media. Also is there any chance I can get the 990 pros into the mic as well?

no 250 ohm beyers would not run out of the aux input from a USB mic. I would look for something much more efficient. my sennhesiser hd 58x for example can run off my usb mic, something like a m40x or a takstar pro 82, if you stiill want a beyer the only beyer Im comfortable recommending right now trhat is efficient enough to run on a usb mic is a tygr

Well gaming, discord, online classes. Most things in my life are virtual rn so i wanted to get a mic and headset that can have voice monitoring and preferably closed back. I also love watching movies and listening to music. I spend 5-8 hours on my pc a day wearing a headset and at least 80% of the time I talk to somebody through my mic. Currently using corsair void pros but they are becoming pretty terrible.

what is your motherboard cause in most cases you mobo will sound better than the built in audio out in a usb mic

plus I really want to point you toward a samson q2u or a ath 2005 for a usb mic cause a dynamic mic will sound better in your use case IMo its much less sensitive to reflections off walls. here are some sound demos

honestly since its a really new pretty good mobo its most likely gonna sound way better than any audio out of a microphone.

Im sorry I feel dumb but what do you mean by this? for example its better to get a normal mic from the mobo not usb?

no sorry I was under the impression you just needed headphones and a mic no t the fact that you already had a mic and I didnt realize you also wanted to monitor your voice hense, needing to plug it in to the mic in this case I would just grab a 58x but sinc eyou are running a condenser a closed back would be a better choice

dont worry about it lol I confused myself as well so Im actually pretty sorry. so in the case of having 1. family around you 2. needing closed back 3. neeing a mic.

for a mic I I would heavily suggest looking at my suggested mics, the fifine my sound pretty good but it's a condenser, it will pick up absolutely every thing especially if you intend to monitor  your voice you would end up hearing everything around you, the ones I suggested a USB dynamic mics, a dynamic mic will pick up exactly what is in front of it and maybe arounbd it but if you have a loud mechnical keyboard thats all it will probably pick up and nothing more aside your voice..

in terms of headphones, I suggest looking into the akg k371 pretty good for gaming great for music, sivga sv006 pretty decent for gaming easy to drive as well as the takstar pro 82's the headpohone the cooler master mh 751's are based off of. , and if you wanted the dt 770 look at the 32 ohm its not the best sounding version of the 770 but the mic should be able to drive it

I also dont want to sound childish but I do like the mute button and controls on the FIFINE, are there any mics you suggest that have similar things to that?

it's what I personally use. it sounds great for chat and calls, but should be similarly priced to the fifine, if your unsure check out the sound demps as theyr are pretty representative of the mics

I know very little about USB mics besides the fact that they aren't overly reliable and we often get reports here of dead/dying mics that can't be fixed. Like Rice I recommend USB/XLR combo mics in the low end if someone doesn't want to make the jump to XLR right away but one thing I do know is that the Neat Beecaster has buttons on it. I also know it's one of the less terrible USB mics out there and that's about it.

I would argue against the statement in temrs of reliablity aside from occasional build issues Ive been using usb mics for years and havent had any problems so have most of my friends. most usb mics that do have problems are generally headset mics which is an entirely different story

I know where you're coming from and I don't mean to say that they're unreliable but I'm comparing to a studio XLR mic, some of which you could literally play a game of football with and still work perfectly fine. We're using different points of reference.
