Also available, for reference, are faux-leather wallet style cases. A clear benefit of these is that they protect the phone screen as well as the back and sides.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Flip cases? I mostly only use flips because: stand, screen protection, grip and its snuffer in my pocket.

But you get silicone, plastic and rubber flips that hold the phone in.

I know. I simply cannot understand how people can bear to use their phone with a huge crack across the screen.

I use a glass screen protector, and it gets replaced as soon as there is anything more than tiny fractures at the edges.

My lg g5 had a hole through it. Still used it because why not it still worked whilst on the lookout for any good used or new deals. I really could not care less about a cracked screen. Rather that than noticeable scratches. And yes it was in a case and had a screen protector but that ain't gonna protect it from getting stepped on trying to catch it and then proceeding to puncture a nail through it from the fence I was working on 😛 (screen was cracked beforehand from meeting the wall at high velocity and absolutely shattering the case into tiny pieces :p).

I am the complete opposite of that!

I'd much, much rather have noticable scratches on the casing, than a crack across the screen!

One of the many reasons I use a film protector. Had the same one for years on my devices and light scratches heal themselves over time. Best nine bucks I ever spent.

Wow $9 for a film protector? I've never spent more than $3 for a tempered glass one. Although it offers a better experience, it doesnt protect the screen as well from fall damage.
