I need advice on couple of things. I'm planning to build system for my video-production workflow.

The system will be used for

4K video Editing ( occasional RAW video edit up-to 8k footage)( also planning to use it as a render machine for other editors)

After effect to support the edit

2D-3D animation

Graphic Designing (Photoshop and Illustrator)

The build planned is for a Ryzen 3950X with 128Gb of RAM and Titan RX.

I want to know 1) Does the additional core of a Threadripper 3970x or 3990x will be an use in such use-case.

2)  Will a dual 2080ti will be better then single Titan

3) Should Quadro be considered.

Thanks for all the help in advance.

you forgot to fill out the information :)

Anything i've written between the * and * is not meant to be taken seriously.

keep in mind that helping with problems is hard if you aren't specific and detailed.

i'm also not a professional, (yet) so make sure to personally verify important information as i could be wrong.

  1. Up to a certain extent. With a 3960X/3970X you might see some improvements, but the 3990X just doesn't scale very well with Adobe.
  2. You don't need neither two 2080Tis nor a Titan RTX for the Adobe suite.
  3. No, Quadro doesn't really offer anything of note for your use case.

The workflow involves software other then Adobe suite such as Davinci resolve, autodesk smoke&flames and Maya.

According to Puget System's testing, Resolve looks to cap out at a single 2080Ti and 3970X, and Maya is mostly single-core dependant (though 3rd gen Threadripper still has solid single-core performance, despite the massive amount of threads it offers).

Do you have a set budget for this system?

Budget wise around 10k USD is allocated. Cost shouldn't hit the performance on the lower end to complete nonsense overkill system.

I was checking Camino video render server.  It's pure GPU power for video render and 3d modeling. GPU compute power is much used in rendering.

Should I then stick to 3970x plus 2080ti setup.
