proprietary front panel cables?

Triz

So, my old case's power button broke and I had a different one lying around, I decided to put everything in that case but I can't find the normal front panel cables. The pc does power on when I short the 2 pins with a screwdriver but of course, that's not a permanent solution. The cables that come from the front panel are these:

The case was of an old Acer Predator prebuilt. do they have proprietary connectors?20200811_085657.thumb.jpg.61a0b297e765d90ebe1e2567e98cde56.jpg

The black connector on the left looks like a regular usb 2.0 header however as for the white one on the left, I'm not sure, I took out my old compaq presario to see what it's power button looked like and it has the same usb 2.0 header but not the other one, it could be for the hard drive activity LEDs but I'm not 100% on that either as mine has the button and LEDs in one header.

I guess if plugging in the 2.0 to a connector on the motherboard makes it work then that's really all you have to do and I wouldn't worry about the other one.

Looks to me like USB 2 (left), the one on the right looks similar to a floppy connector but it isn't quite right.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

what predator model is it?

the black one certainly a USB.

The white one probably a front panel audio.

just take a look where the cable ended.

my guess you need 3 header connector.

usb 2, usb3 and audio header.

i guess theres 2 usb 2 connectors since already have the usb 2 connected. there comes a orange-white cable from the power button that goes into the other usb 2 connector

That tells me that it's a front panel port (pwr, reset, hdd led etc).

you must break that apart and rewire it to make use of it.

It's not required to have it on the motherboard, as you can turn the pc by shorting the pwr pins.

the orange and white should be your priority for powering up the pc.

The wire color and header position may not be the same, so you should check the manual.

trace each cable to where the function is.

Pwr is obvious, Reset usually near the pwr.
HDD Led and Power on led somewhere in the front (this is interchangeable).

Speaker is optional, it's handy for troubleshooting.
