My PC is running on 100 % disk usage and I am also getting the blue screen of death while playing game like C's go

Could I reduce the disk usage by using multiple hard disks

My specs are

I5 3570

8gb ram

300watt psu

500gb hdd from Hitachi

And I'm playing games with dedicated Intel HD graphics 2500

Get a ssd, windows 10 just really struggles on a hdd.

Take a lot at what is using the disk in resource monitor, shows usage by file, gives you a good idea if a background task or swapping out

Defrag if you haven't already

Try to free up ram if you can, free ram = cache for the disk.

I think you have bigger issues if you have Blue screens. Check you temps. Update your drivers. See if that helps.

Windows 10 doesn't like HDD's, you're better off putting your OS on an SSD and keeping your games on HDD's.

100% disk usage is normal with games. Especially with low speed drive.

And especially if the HDD is used for page memory. 8GB ram is a little short gaming in win 10.

You should invest a SSD for installing windows, at least 256gb.

BSOD can happen when your memory is full and need the HDD space to compensate (read page memory).

And then if the hdd have some broken sector, it will automatically stop itself.

Later when you have dual disk system, put the game folders in a separate drive, so in case of this happening again, it wont stop windows from working.

No, it will work just fine. Just outdated and slow. But overall you can use hdd with windows 10.

Been there and done it on a SSHD. It was the worst experience ever. Windows 10 performs worse with an HDD than Windows 8.1 and Windows  7 did. I know Microsoft supposedly updated Windows 10 to make it work better, but in this day and age the OS should NEVER be on a HDD. SSDs are inexpensive now days and even on my Ivybridge system when I built it back in 2013, it had an SSD.

Also the 100% disk usage only happens on HDD's, even with a enough RAM in the system. My Laptop had 16 gigs and about half the time had 100% disk usage. Windows 10 was designed with SSD's in mind, as its designed to be a modern OS. Like I said, I have personal experience with this, I would never suggest not having an SSD with Windows 10.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Are you sure about this? Do you have a solid fact to back this up. There's many factors involved with this problem.

I am pretty damn sure i ran multiple pc with hdd and windows 10 in my office for years. Nobody complained so far.

Yes they are slow, but far from totally unusable.

It was news worthy it seems. Though the 2004 update is known to be an issue in its own right. I know on most machines I have seen running with a HDD that the disk usage is always high. But with SSDs the disk usage is low. I never said it was unusable, just unpleasant to the point of wanting to gouge out your eyes. But I have had issues with a laptop in the past where the computer was unusable due to high disk usage and it was only an issue after upgrading it from Windows 8.1 to 10 via a clean install.

But I still stand behind my statement. SSD's are cheap now days. You only need a 250 gig for Windows. Run the OS on SSD and most of the performance issues are solved.

I agree, no one with enough budget should run modern OS with a HDD.
