Mobo/PSU Failure?

Hey guys, yesterday I was playing a game and my pc suddenly shutdown, the game isnt intense and the temps were normal, I tried to turn it on but no luck, fans not spinning either, I turned off the psu and held the power button for 30 secs and after trying to power the pc again i saw a spark near gpu ( it literally started burning for 2secs ), my pc, from the time it shutdown, wont turn on again, I tried the psu paperclip test and it works ( the psu fan is spinning), I also tried the motherboard screwdriver test and it didnt work, my rgb setup is glowing all fine which Im assuming is a dead Mobo but the green light on the motherboard is glowing too... 

mobo: asus h61-mk 

gpu: r9 270

psu : sharkoon sha550

 

what do you think is it a motherboard or psu? ill get it to a pc store to test before replacing either but just curious what do you think guys.

It really could be either or. You'll want to try a different PSU with that mobo first, if possible.

Well a spark indicates something shorted. Take your motherboard out of the case and inspect it for damage, look a your GPU as well. PSU could have been the culprit, just because it still works does not mean it cannot damage other components. That or just due to the age of the motherboard a capacitor may have blown.

Thanks guys, also, lately I’ve been having random bsods (critical process died and unexpected store exception) dunno if that tells anything

My gpu is not letting my pc boot at all ( no fans spinning ), but when I try with integrated graphics it boots just fine so I'm assuming it's time for a new GPU, thanks for help guys
