no, the casing for the connector are color coded already, so the metal part arent...

You can't color code the metal part because it's literally what connects to the device. That's the conductor. If you put paint on it or whatever it wouldn't make any contact and would not work. Think about it like this. Can you plug something into the wall if you put a balloon in between the plug and the wall? No, the balloon will prevent the metal from touching so it won't make a connection.

those are female ends, those are plastic inserts insulators built into the cable connector t give a snug fit when the other end is in.

 

I have never seen a place to custom order those in other colours.

It's not a cable, just a coupler, but could something like this work for what you want?
