9900k dropped on the road.. is it okay?

I bought this 9900k second hand and dropped it soon after on the road.. I can see a spec of the outer trace in the right light. Is the cpu alright? should I find something to cover the outer trace? Also is the outer trace just a shield for interference?

Big yikes! The only thing you can really do, from my point of view, is to just visually inspect it and make sure that it doesn't seem all out of whack. Otherwise you'll just have to test it and see what happens. Good luck.

Generally, the contacts are the important part, so damage there is what you need to be worried about.

Impossible to tell you if it's fine or not from pictures though. You'd have to test it to find out.

There is nothing important in the part that looks damaged. I can almost guarantee it'll work fine.

Use a magnifying glass to see if any pins are bent which are present on the bottom of the cpu. OR just try to booting  the computer with this CPU. If it does not work get it fixed by a local  intel store or something..

framed sentence wrongly.so gave out wrong meaning and typed computer instead of cpu.

Thanking you,

Won't be pins on the bottom ; contact pads and some caps/resistors

IK.  I have framed my sentence wrongly so it is giving out the wrong meaning..... and i typed computer for cpu in a hurry.  I  was in an online class and my teacher had called me so I had to type fast...

Thanking you,

Thanks guys any tips as I can see a spec of copper of the outer what I imagine to be the interference shield along the edge of the processor to protect It?
