Wondering if this tradeoff is worth it.

So I'm buying a PC from a Cyberpower and was wondering if this tradeoff would be worth it.

PC 1:

Ryzen 5 3600

360mm AIO Watercooler

ASUS PRIME B550-PLUS ATX

16GB (8GBx2) DDR4/3200MHz Dual Channel Memory (ADATA XPG Z1)

AMD Radeon™ RX 5500 XT 8GB GDDR6 PCIe 4.0 [Navi] (Single Card)

240GB WD Green SSD + 1TB SATA III Hard Drive Combo

Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 Dual Band

Plus a free RGB keyboard, mouse, and large mousepad.

OR

Intel® Core™ Processor i5-10400

INTEL BRAND LGA 1156 (S) CPU FAN 65W (Included)

INTEL B460M M-ATX LGA 1200

16GB (8GBx2) DDR4/3000MHz MEMORY

MSI RTX 2060 SUPER 8GB GDDR6 (Turing) [VR Ready]

500GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD

Plus non RGB keyboard and mouse.

Which should I choose? They both cost the same, and the first one also can have an engraving on the side panel.

Any chance you would consider building your own? Much better bang for your buck and its not as hard as it may seem.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

I've considered, yes, currently it is pretty much not worth it. The price of getting the same PC would be Very different if I were to build one, seeing as there are many sales going on in the website and it lowers the cost greatly.

What do those builds cost after sales?

a pc will always be cheaper to build, not sure what website you are referring to.

Not only would it be cheaper, it is also very fun. I recently did my first build with my dad and it was great, it is not too hard as long as you take your time on it.

Looking at the website, im assuming you would be paying around $1050 for it. Here is a similarly price build that combines the best of both. I didnt add a keyboard or mouse as those are very subjective and you can easily get a windows key on ebay for around $5.

That doesn't include many of the Quality-of-Life additions that are also included, such as:

Dual Band Wifi (Ethernet doesn't reach my room)

B550 chipset

AIO Watercooling

6 Case fans

Thermal Paste

Custom Engraving

Extra Large Mousepad

Windows 10

RMA-able parts

Logitech G502 Mouse

All for $979

I see your point, so I will explain my reasoning for these parts. However if you do decide to go prebuilt the first one is better all around while the second will have better pure gaming performance.
I assumed you wouldn’t need WiFi as the second build doesn’t have a card. You can get a WiFi card quite cheap.

B550 would really have no advantage over b450 for your use case. Not to mention the tomahawk has better vrms than what is with the prebuilt.

Water cooling is cool to have but not necessary, the temps are worse when compared to a similarly priced air cooler and they have more points of failure. Also, the stock cooler is enough if you are not overclocking.

Where did you get the 6 case fans and g502? Can you please link the listing so I can I have a better look at it?

Lastly, Windows 10 licenses can be found for $5 on eBay and with building your own, you always can rma which is often not the case with prebuilts.

All in all, it will be a bit more expensive, but I believe it will be worth it as you know you are getting a good psu (often not the case with prebuilts), 3600 with 2060 super, and the experience of building your own.

Considering what a nightmare Cyberppwer prebuilts are, I would never buy those. I'd you really want a prebuilt system, look at HIDevolution

Still not recommended. Cyberpoeer prebuilts are among the worst. You're better off with a Dell Inspiron or Lenovo Idea Centre
