Budget (including currency): Kind of depends. I'd like to keep it medium-ranged, but if I have to buy 200€ in fans in order to keep my PC from boiling half of my face, I will, slowly.

Country: Portugal

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: MMORPG/MOBA games, streaming; light video editing.

Other details: Right now, my new build consists of a LianLi PC-O11 Dynamic Black case, a B550 Taichi motherboard from AsRock, with a 3900X, 32GB of G.Skill Trident Z 3466Mhz CL18, a Gaming X Trio 2080 Super, a Fractal Design Ion+ 860W Platinum PSU, a 500gb MP600 and a 4TB HDD. For peripherals I'm using Corsair's K55 RGB keyboard and the Scimitar Pro mouse. My primary display is a 27" IPS 144Hz monitor from Ozone.

_______"____________

Right now my problem is how to cool it all down. The PC-O11 has room for 9 fans and I'd like to populate all 9 of them. I saw Dmitry from Hardware Canucks doing some configurations, where he used a 360 Corsair AIO and 6 Corsair ML120 fans, connected to a Corsair Commander Pro.

The thing is, the 2 AIO's I'm torn on are Fractal Design's Celsius+ S36 (for it's simplicity and cable free environment) or the NZXT Kraken Z73 (for it's cool display).

However, I'm not sure how to connect all the other 6 fans AND control their colors, since the Commander Pro (the RGB software control) only works with Corsair fans.

I do love the looks of the AER RGB fans from NZXT, and I can get a pack of them with the Hue for the lighting, but the AER only have light on one side, so I don't know how I'd make it look good both on exhaust and intake. Also, the NZXT hub only has 3PWM fans and I can't find the Grid.

What do I do? How do I hook up the AIO + 6 more fans and still control their RPM and color? Is Corsair my only option?

Any PWM fan controller will be able to control the 6 fans., since they're all PWM headers.

S36 and Z63 are about as far apart price wise as you can get for 280-360mm coolers. Corsair can actually control normal ARGB with adapters (though not a perfect solution; if you're not stuck with it, find a different ARGB controller/spliter)

Just realized I typo'd it. I meant z73* (both 360mm AIOs).

Even worse! 😂

But regardless of which 360mm AIO you choose, you can use a single PWM fan controller that accept 6+ fans (there are many that support that amount or more) that can draw power from your PSU and PWM signal from your motherboard, and be perfectly A-Okay.

If you get NZXT's ARGB fans though, you'll need to use their controller assuming it can accept all 6 fans.

Although I'm not entirely sure, I believe the NZXT AER RGB fans are daisy chainable, up to 5 fans.

So could I hook them up to a 6 PWM fan hub and separately to a NZXT HUE?

Correct, you'd need a HUE controller for the RGB (though I'm not sure how it all hooks up, NZXT doesnt have the best track record for their CAM software) and a hub for the PWM.

For comparison, I'm skipping a lot of that, and bought 6 upHere fans for $43 on amazon which comes with it's own fan/ARGB controller which will connect ot the motherboard for both ARGB and PWN signals form the motherboard, and gets powered via (I'm hoping) SATA, id have to check whe I get home and it arrived two days ago for a build this weekend in an O11D.

Confirmed it is SATA powered not molex.
