geforce now clip reduce fps same as streaming?

Does using gforce now to do that 'clip' last 5 minute thing reduce a large amount of fps? because im thinking its basically streaming you the whole time 24/7 isn't it so must be using a lot of performance right?

from my experience, no

i barely feel it

 

and that should be the norm as it uses hardware encode, basically a dedicated portion of the GPU that does this without using any of the main CUDA cores, so you shouldnt see any performance penalty, in theory. in practice, you'll see less than 5% difference from what i've seen

at 4K 60fps 130Mbps I lose Up to 10fps in some cases, usually 5-10FPS range at 4K, but usually only 1-3fps at 1080p/1440p because Nvidia limits it to 50Mbps.
