I got a 1070 for a good deal(30euro) and the guy who sold it to me told me that hdmi ports are not working, so i was wondering is it possible to run it iusing my hdmi output on motherboard?

Brand is asus turbo reference cooler

No, in order to use the card as the GPU you have to run the display through the card itself, running through the motherboard will use the iGPU if you have one or not work at all if you don't. Yes depending on your board or CPU, however it would be easier to just use a different display input. A 1070 should have DVI and Display Port as well, try using one of those instead of HDMI, Display Port is a better connection anyway. If your monitor doesn't have DP or DVI you can easily get an adapter, or try using the iGPU as a passthrough.

no u can use iGPU as a passthrough

your dGPU can still render the game, and display it thru the iGPU

OP, u can run the 1070 and use iGPU but you'll have to enable it in the bios first

and your CPU must have an integrated GPU built in for it to work

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

There are also some motherboards that can do this without an iGPU if they have a display input on the board, in addition to an output. Plug the graphics card into the display input, plug your display into the display output, Bob's your uncle.
