First PC Build Need Assistance

Budget (including currency): 1000 £ (with 10% flexibility)

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

- Ideally able to run games at high graphics settings, but mostly focused on good performance as most of the games I play are competetive FPS shooters. (graphics settings maxed out is not ideal).

- As I am an engineering postgraduate student I must be able to run engineering software such as: CAD, Simulation software, EDA/ECAD etc... nothing too overkill but its better to play it safe.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

- Since this is a first build I am not upgrading so I am looking for a complete parts list.

- I am looking for 2 monitors: Resolution : 1920x1080 Refresh Rate : 144Hz

- I dont have any brand preferences only that I would like to get the maximum performance for the monetary value.

- I would appreciate any useful sources and resources for pc building that you think might help someone building their first PC.

- Aesthetics isnt a concern at all, I dont care about the looks just the performance.

I would appreciate any and all help, if possible.

Kind regards.

And to add to the above, squeezing 2 of them in will kill your budget for what you actually want it to do, if they are to be included in the overall £1k budget as that will be taking up about a minimum of £290 of it from a quick look and if you are also needing mouse/keyboard etc.

If monitors are not included in the budget:

If monitor(s) are included:

Then you could grab another cheap secondary display for about £100 (wont be 144Hz though). If you cant stretch this far, and must have two displays, get a RX 5700 or 5600XT instead

Thank you very much @marmour and @boggy77 I will review the suggestions.

I will definetly be getting a good primary 144Hz display and then a cheaper secondary display for better value as suggested.

Ill let you know if I come up with follow up questions, if you are happy to answer them.
