So today I noticed my 16GB of ram was at 100% for no reason and did not drop down at all. I have no clue what the issues is but I can tell running my computer makes the ram rise up more and more. It idles around 10-30% 30 when on chrome and stuff but im dumbfounded on whats happening. I got Microsoftware Essentials running a full scan just incase I downloaded something bad and Iv gone through resource manager, and it shows Chrome and Skype use the most when there using nothing around the amount that its totaling.

Anyone can help?

use ccleaner to clear memory dumps and system files that are no longer being used
you can also check in task manager the processes used by the system, and see what is using most ram

make sure to check 'show for all users' to see the system processes as well as your own

If you have a virus, obviously Microsoft Security Essentials missed it so theres no point in running a scan with that.  Run a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.  Also download Microsoft Process Explorer and that can give you detailed information and help you find the culprit.

Chrome is a 32bit program so by itself it can't fill 16GB of ram.  Look at your running processes and see if there is a program or combination of programs that is filling 10-16GB of ram (this most likely won't be the case).  What's most likely the issue if task manager doesn't account for the ram usage is that there is a memory leak from either a driver or service.  Also Microsoft Security Essentials is one of the worst free antiviruses out there!  Switch asap!

They are saying Chrome because it loads a NEW Chrome.exe process with its own memory allocation for EVERY tab...using more memory than other browsers.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

True Chrome uses alot of memory but it will crash before consuming 16GB of ram.  Chrome is a very unlikely candidate to the issue.  If the problem is what he described

Its a text book case of a memory leak.

I've had shadowplay eat up all my RAM a few times, then crashes my PC. It even happens on the desktop. What graphics card do you have?

It could indeed be a mem leak but chrome does take up more and more memory the longer its open for some strange reason... I personally have at least 100+ chrome tabs open and a firefox window open all the time so my experience of memory usage going up may not be comparable.

If its a leak your going to need to do some Google search.   The most common tool used is Poolmon.exe,  here's the msdn article to get you started http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff560135(v=vs.85).aspx.  run the poolmon utility (with sort highest flag)  when you notice you are out of ram and then the tag which will be astronomically larger then the rest is the source of your leak.  Lastly here is a microsoft support article to help find what the tag correlates to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/298102.
