What makes it into tech linked?

Does anyone know what decides if a tech news post makes it into techlinked? I have been lucky enough to get some of mine in there, but even in today’s episode there was a topic or two that had a thread on the forum but didn’t get a screenshot in the video. My guess is that the thread either has to meet some guidelines set by the channel or that the writer or editor of the video just didn’t see it. Does anyone know if they have stated what qualifies to make it into a video?

they haven't stated guidelines for forum posts, but in their 1 million sub video, @RILEYISMYNAME said he prioritizes some stories over others

another factor also be the quality of the post. They probably don't want to use some bad post (see mine) as that doesn't look professional.

Thanks for sharing, I don’t remember him saying that.

As for yours not getting in, I think it was just because of the time (of course I have no real way of knowing) but yours was posted (And I think the outage occurred) after they write and film today’s episode.

The outage was at around 230-3 pacific, so I think that would still be writing time. Honestly miffed that my twitter post wasn't in the episode. But congrats on your second appearance

You should not be posting on the forum because you want 2 seconds of fame by having your post appear in a YouTube video. You should be posting on the forum because you are interested in the topic and want to have a discussion with other people on the forum.

 

The news articles that get posted on the forum are often taken from major tech news media outlets. Just because someone posted it on the forum doesn't mean that LTT didn't just find the article/topic themselves from the original source. In my opinion it makes more sense to show the original article rather than a forum post discussing the article.

Sorry if it seemed like thats what I meant. I don't post just to get  featured, I post because I want to share and talk about the tech news I have seen. I was just curious how lmg decides what makes it in.

That's not my sole reason to just make into tl (though that'd be fun). I do it to inform people and of course, have a discussion. and increase my post count

They usually never show the forum post I don’t think. They used to for the WAN Show.
