will mild oc decrease cpu/mobo/ram lifespan

Go to solution Solved by gloop,

Not significantly if you stick inside safe boundaries.

if I oc my i7 6700k to 4.5 ghz give or take .1 ghz and increase the voltage slightly within safe levels and use xmp profle on ram, will it significantly decrease the lifespan of my components assuming heat is not an issue and everything stays cool, or cause me to have to increase voltage on cpu every few months or year because silicon quality wears down and eventually have a catastrophic failure because of oc of is that only for extreme overclocks like 4.8 ghz or higher?

ok good, im not looking to break records im looking go get an extra 10 or so percent speed boost on cpu and have a system that can last a long time without annoying problems, would 4.5 ghz on my cpu be in that range?
