I recommended the 2060S/2070S since OP plans on streaming, and Turing NVENC is still better than the encoder found on Navi.

For raw gaming performance though, yes, the 5700XT is a bit better than the 2060S at the same price.

Competes with the 2070 super too quite even actually.

On average it's around ~5-8% slower than the 2070S if memory serves me right, while pulling a little more power.

But regardless, if streaming wasn't on OP's workload list, then a 5700XT would've been a solid pick.

For me the choice between intel and AMD is pretty narrow. “Some content creation” puts it over the top for AMD if content creation is video rendering or complicated excel or some such.  If it’s just word processing it swings back in the other direction.  It’s really very close. Solution might be which full system is better value en total.  Motherboards cost too.  I think the reason it’s 3700x instead of 3900 or 10900 is both chips are overpowered for that gpu.  Even 3700x is overpowered.  There’s an argument for 8/16 over 6/12 Atm though so the 3600 and 10600 may have future issues.  I don’t know how many threads streaming off cpu takes, which is what an AMD gpu would need.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
