So what is the temperature my cpu starts to thermal throttle and when i’m gaming, what should be my average temperature?

its safe to keep it under 90c

FX chips have a throttle point that's way lower than other cpu's for example 

it depends on which cpu really.

Max temp is 95 C, but you probably want it closer to 85 C tops.

it will probably start throttling around the 90-95c mark.

iirc ryzens boosting algorithm will thermal throttle you around 87º, personal experience is that lowering that temp limit to 80º or so nets improved performance, but anything under 90º is technically ok

While gaming, you would want to be not really any hotter than mid 70's. Game load isn't very demanding, so if your seeing mid 70's in a game, if you ever do something actually intensive, it will likely get up to the 90's which is a concern and points to needing a better heatsink.

 

But... before you go buy a different heatsink, run something intensive like cinebench R20 or Asus real bench stress test for 10 mins and see what temps it hits. If it never goes above 85, your good!
