Please help

Not a bottleneck, a hardware malfunction. Either your SSD is dying or your motherboard, most likely. That, or really bad software corruption

Edited by Fasauceome

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

I would use ddu to remove any old gpu drivers and install the newest ones only.

That could explain the slow boot time.

Test the SSD with CrystalDiskMark.

You will have to test, updating the BIOS might shed some light. Also use crystaldiskmark to check SSD health

2.5 minutes is uncharacteristically slow for a dramless SSD. Worst case scenario (and I'm talking absolute worst, like mega ultra cheapo) for dramless SSDs is as slow as a hard drive, but my brother uses a dramless SSD as a boot drive and his system is even more responsive and quick than mine.

My work laptop has a 5400rpm HDD, and that's about what my boot times are. Might be wrong and it's possible there's an issue with the SSD.

It's also possible his startup items is filled with junk, and that's obviously not gonna help! (OP ; check the task manager, then in the tab "startup", disable anything that's unnecessary, then restart and see if that also helps).

I agree. I have the exact same ssd and I get boot times less than a minute. The fact that it is dramless might play a part but isn't the only reason.
